Fantastic Four

Fantastic Four is a darker, emotional character driven story for one of the oldest superhero families. Grounded in reality, the powers of the Fantastic Four stem from their personalities.

The digital marketing campaign for Fantastic Four needed to cut through the noise of the typically loud and glossy summer blockbuster. Using a modern minimalist approach, the bold black and white aesthetic captured the raw human emotion of each hero, rather than their supernatural powers.

The responsive website gave fans a unique look at the Fantastic Four, taking them “under the microscope”. Through a series of 3D animations narrated by Dr. Storm, the microscopic videos reinforced that “the science is real”.

To support the Fantastic Four campaign we developed a number of digital initiatives. Unfortunately very few of them saw the light of day.

We created a 3,500+ word story for Medium that revealed the development of the Fantastic Four, before they were superheroes.

To tease the transformation of Dr. Doom, and to show his villainy was rooted in his personality, we drafted an op-ed for The New York Times.

Finally, we created a fake dash-cam video of Johnny Storm showing off his new abilities, somewhere over Eastern Europe.
